When all hope is gone,
Sad songs say so much.

Andrea Bocelli...

One of my all time favorite songs...I first heard this and ran out and bought the CD...played it...played it and played it...I can't get sick of it! I'd love to see him live...also Sarah Brightman...she's truely one of the most talented singers out there! And animated...she's always in character!

A year already?

It's been a year since we've been glued to the TV watching the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, they were amazing! I love the Olympics, I hate that it's only every 4 years...but then we get to enjoy them even more! I loved this song, the silence in the crowd, it's amazing!

Storybook Love...

I LOVE this movie, and I LOVE this song! I've loved it for years, and everytime I hear this song I get goose bumps! I have no clue what about it I love so much...but I do! I actually prefer the origional version on the movie "The Princess Bride", it's played at the end during the credits, there's more arrangements with the guitar...but this will do! There's a bit of his chatter at the beginning if you can get through that...you'll enjoy the song!

Amazing concert...

I went to see Reba McIntire in about 1994 I think...when I lived in Calgary. I should rephrase that...I went to see John Michael Montgomery who was opening for Reba lol! I wasn't really a fan of Reba at the time, but LOVED John! I had 10th row tickets on the floor. John actually wasn't the best live...but REBA! OMG! I can't believe I had such great seats! Everyone of her songs she performed...I mean she performed! Like she was doing a music video to each song! It wasn't a concert, it was a broadway show! Amazing lady! Immediately...I became a fan!

I didn't know this song when I went to the concert. The crowd was silent through the whole song...I cried, I'm sure everyone cried...it was amazing...maybe you haven't heard it before...you need to read the lyrics...I still tear up when I hear this song!! Imagine, 1000's of people, silent...listening to this song...

Everyone has someone in their life that they regret not telling them you love them enough, for me, Papa Joe...I hope he knew...

The greatest man I never knew
Lived just down the hall
And everyday we said hello
But never touched at all
He was in his paper
I was in my room
How was I to know he thought I hung the moon

The greatest man I never knew
Came home late every night
He never had too much to say
Too much was on his mind
I never really knew him
And now it seems so sad
Everything he gave to us took all he had

Then the days turned into years
And the memories to black and white
He grew cold like an old winter wind
Blowing across my life

The greatest words I never heard
I guess I`ll never hear
The man I thought could never die
S`been dead almost a year
He was good at business
But there was business left to do
He never said he loved me
Guess he thought I knew

Let them eat cake!

It's been SO long since I've done anything creative lately...just have lost my groove. So the opportunity came up to make a cake for my friend's 40th birthday, I decided to try something I have yet to venture...#1 using fondant...#2 a topsy turvy cake!

After a few hours of researding online, thank goodness for youtube...I decided topsy turvy it would be...but only venturing on 2 layers...didn't have enough pans for more! I KNOW you should do things in odd numbers, and it would have been way better with 3 layers...but it turned out pretty good for my first try! AND it tasted fabulous! Marshmallow fondant is the WAY to go! Nummy! The balls around the bottom were last minute...I didn't have enough buttercream to make a nice border and it needed something...kinda reminds me of a Flintstone cake lol! The dots were brown and pink...not sure why they are turning up funky colors!

Now...what will I try next time...

So...how was your Saturday?

Celebrated a friend's 40th birthday...need I say more? Happy Birthday Hillary!

Let them be little

Sometimes we want them to do things to make them more grown up...what's the rush?

This song says is ALL! I love my kids....(tear)

I can remember when you fit in the palm of my hand.
You felt so good in it; no bigger than a minute.
How it amazes me you're changin' with every blink.
Faster than a flower blooms, they grow up all too soon.

So let them be little,
'Cause they're only that way for a while.
Give 'em hope, give them praise,
Give them love every day.
Let 'em cry, let 'em giggle,
Let 'em sleep in the middle,
Oh, but let them be little.

I never felt so much in one little tender touch.
I live for those kisses, your prayers an' your wishes.
An' now you're teachin' me how only a child can see.
Tonight, while we're on our knees, all I ask is:

Please, let them be little,
'Cause they're only that way for a while.
Give them hope, give them praise,
Give them love every day.
Let 'em cry, let 'em giggle,
Let 'em sleep in the middle,
Oh, but let them be little.

The so innocent, precious soul:
You turn around, an' it's time to let them go.

So let them be little,
'Cause they're only that way for a while.
Give them hope, give 'em praise,
Give them love every day.
Let 'em cry, let 'em giggle,
Let them sleep in the middle,
Oh, but let them be little.

Let them be little

Need a laugh...

Sometimes you just need to laugh...and who is to say that the "King" was any different? Imagine singing the same songs over and over and over...well every once and awhile Elvis would change the lyrics...for this one he said "Do you gaze at your bald head and wish you had hair". Then he noticed a bald guy in the audience...not only that...listen to the background singer...she just kept going and going.

I love listening to this song and hear his UNCONTROLLABLE laughter! Hope it puts a smile on your face too!

Everyday a constant battle just to stay between the shore...

Just a spark of the great lyrics to this song. Some days are just too hard to swim and let the water move us where it wants.

Here's the lyrics:

You know a dream is like a river
Ever changin' as it flows
And a dreamer's just a vessel
That must follow where it goes
Trying to learn from what's behind you
And never knowing what's in store
Makes each day a constant battle
Just to stay between the shores...and

I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry
Like a bird upon the wind
These waters are my sky
I'll never reach my destination
If I never try
So I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry

Too many times we stand aside
And let the waters slip away
'Til what we put off 'til tomorrow
Has now become today
So don't you sit upon the shoreline
And say you're satisfied
Choose to chance the rapids

There's bound to be rough waters
And I know I'll take some falls
But with the good Lord as my captain
I can make it through them all...yes

I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry
Like a bird upon the wind
These waters are my sky
I'll never reach my destination
If I never try
So I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry
